Misfit Ray: A Big Fat No!

This article will discuss why you should never consider the Misfit Ray if you’re looking for a fitness tracker worth your time and money. For any wearable to be considered acceptable, it should at least work right? Well the Misfit Ray keeps dying every few days.

Should you buy the Misfit Ray?

I would recommend Misfit Ray for its looks, even if the battery life lasted a full month. But that’s a very big if, mine kept dying every 2 or 3 days. It surely does look great and fashionable. It’s really good-looking and the choice of colors and bands makes it even more stylish to suit each individual personal preferences.

The haptic feedback is an added advanced and it compares really well with rivals in the same price range.

However where it fails miserably is battery life. The User Experience of the app is average too. If you buy it, you’ll will find that yourself running from shop to shop every 2 or 3 days, looking for a 393 size battery, which is sort of hard to find.

I have tried three activity trackers over the past few years, and have found the Misfit Ray to the worst of them all in terms of practical use. The Misfit Ray has a stylish design, solid feature set and a really reasonable price tag. However it fails to perform its advertised 3 month battery life. As i said earliet, mine kept dying every two or three days.

However, the Misfit Ray has a stylish cylindrical design that I really I was initially attracted towards. It will come down to personal preference and the need for a timepiece when deciding between the two, but design wise. Misfit Ray was a winner for me. If you’re up for it, the Ray can sit comfortably next to your current watch without looking cheesy.

Design & Build

Misfit Ray is one of the most stylish activity trackers available. It comes in six different colors: Carbon Black, Rose Gold, Navy, Forest, polished Stainless Steel or Polished Stainless Steel Gold.

Each has multiple band options too, including a leather option if you’d prefer that to the default plastic, although it costs more.

On the positive side, I found the Misfit Ray very comfy to wear – even while I sleep, work or use my computer at work. What I liked is that is easily adjustable to make it as loose or as tight as you’d like it, and it rests comfortably on the top of your wrist too. The plastic band and the device itself are very durable – they look very nice, and people do ask me what’s that on your wrist.

It’s waterproof, so there’s no need to take it off in the shower or while in the gym.

But would I recommend anyone to ever buy it?

No, never – why? Because it doesn’t work as advertised
